Spiders at home
no vacuum bag
hurting bones
skin that sags
no jobby job for you
no rest for me
lets run away from home
off to the sea
ahh vacation
is all I ever wanted
vacation have to get away
vacation not meant to be spent
alone
three day weekends
just don’t cut the cheese
give me a month, year
eternity please
oil that needs changing
bills that need to be paid
beds and linens waiting to be layed
no time for painting
unless you want to forgo sleep
finding time in the wee hours of night
for the journal that you keep
maybe I should be a backwards
Jehovahs witness
and celebrate holidays only
and treat every other mundane day
as if it were phony
ah pippi where for art thou
amongst your fun chaos
and impossible dreams
even you find time to clean

Life Well Lived
Life qualifies me to be a writer
I have no degree short of a tumultuous
high school
education
in every sense of the word
I have seen others with the pen
writing out their trials
and triumphs
their battle with the bottle
the needle
the green eyed monster
everyone that was more normal than them
they wrote with blood and ink and tiredness
have you ever seen a life well lived?
Or a life “wasted”
or love or hate or regret
or happiness or profound spiritual awakening
take form
actual form
on a page

What Age Are We In?
Dwapara Yuga.
Seeking, desire, addiction.
Penance. Salvation?
Perhaps
I do not know.
The procession of
The Equinox.
Sri Yukteswar–
will you be my teacher too?

2 poems for a 2uesday
Getting There
I saw monks peeing on a hillside
holding their saffron robes
and laughing....
throwing back their heads and laughing.
~Jenny
The Women..
The women are tired
their bones ache
their psyches ache
the place inside them
that holds all of their creative
ideas
is bursting
bloated
nothing can be done
with half closed
sleepy eyes
and burning ears
and an over beating heart
let them go to bed
for now
in their sea of comforters
and dream dreams
of covering those they love
in paper mache
to forever preserve them
and teach them
a new art
and not take credit
for any of it.
To just be happy, to just love.

"Grace Eventually" ~Anne Lamott
I just bought this book and started flipping through it. I love this:
"Sometimes I think that Jesus watches my neurotic struggles, and shakes his head and grips his forehead and starts tossing back mojitos."

Welcome Back Jack
Some Quotes From Jack Kerouac~~(for a cynical Wednesday)
“Avoid the world, it's just a lot of dust and drag and means nothing in the end.”
“All our best men are laughed at in this nightmare land.”
“Offer them what they secretly want and they of course immediately become panic-stricken.”
“Accept loss forever.”
“All of life is a foreign country.”
“Mankind is like dogs, not gods - as long as you don't get mad they'll bite you - but stay mad and you'll never be bitten. Dogs don't respect humility and sorrow.”

Inspiration From The Galaxy
I wish I could go to space
and drift to and fro
on an odyssey
of galactic dreams
and feast on unknown sights
whosh past stars and smell
their vaporous dust
and feel their cool flecks
on my face
traveling at light speed
through the darkness
to come upon a body of light
again and again
or perhaps one M-class planet
after another
and after getting bored of M-class planets
discover a whole new class of planets
where we can breath and live
and eternally feel bliss
and play
until we have the itch
for parallel universes
and then....

Annie
I woke up with Annie on the brain today, even sang my own little musical in my apartment for my audience of one while getting ready for work, I hope he didn't mind. Ahhh....Mondays.

sharing, caring & honesty
I’m tired today
and sluggish
I’m struggling with not smoking
I can go all day
but have trouble at night
with smoking a few
I guess it is a quiet steady progress
the flow of change does not always run so smoothly
and sometimes it gets stopped up
and we have to unplug it
I wish I could plug myself into the wall
for some energy
some vitality
some vigor and vivth
the body is such a map
such a captains log
blood tests next week
why am I afraid
just a few days ago
I decided to adopt
a positive attitude about life
things will always go wrong
but
the power of positive thinking
can be powerful
but like anything
it takes some practice
so I am practicing
I am in my body
in my mind
in my spirit
and I will water the roots
of goodness and hope
love and tolerance
for myself and others
even those on the road
at the store
anyone that is passed by
on the street
is the same as me
we are all human
and all spirits
and reaching for something greater
and all we have is our
decisions
to love or not to love
To reach out a hand or pull it away
to be honest and an exhibitionist
with our own truths we are living
because they are all beautiful
valuable
and so worth while.

This Months Angel (from Innerlinks)
Angel of Simplicity for May |
Simply be yourself. Look past the fanfare and drama to what is enduring.
Take time to clarify what is important to you and let non essentials fall away.
Simplicity requires tenacity of spirit and a 'one pointed' clear holding of our soul's presence. Too much of the time our minds are filled with the complexities of outer circumstances. Living with simplicity, not necessarily simple, means removing the noise of the swirling demands that surround us.
Life itself is the expression of divine nature and an appreciation of this aligns our consciousness with what is essential and enduring. A moment of direct connection helps to break the spell of uncertainty and builds internal well-being. Living without fanfare opens doorways to what is truly important.
To simply be ourselves can be a daunting task. It presses us to deeply consider the question of who we truly are and then open to who everybody else is. It requires us to bring what we do into mindful service of who we are and simply shine the light of truth into our everyday experiences.
May the current of light come into your life on the wings of Simplicity this month.
Warmly,
Kathy
Warmly,
Kathy
P.S. If you worked with the Angel of Wisdom during April, take a few moments to release it with your gratitude before welcoming the Angel of Simplicity into your life for the month of May.
