Will they turn the lights on after we’re finished here
and check to see that all of the safety bars
have been put back in their proper
positions
the thrills and chills that glowed in the dark
will become nothing but paper mache
and simple mechanics
the fire breathing dragon
with the glowing eyes
will sadly jerk back
into his harmless position
everything revealed for what it really is
until they open early tomorrow
and sell tickets
for the next ride
